Smaller works and works on paper
I’ve been experimenting lately with some smaller works, mainly because I’m preparing for a workshop coming up which I’ll be teaching and I’m busy creating the programme. It’s a workshop teaching how to paint abstract landscapes so I’m trying to figure out how I do paint them. I know that sounds weird but sometimes after I have finished a painting, I can’t actually remember how I painted it, so I’ve been trying to establish a formula for how I create these small works to see if I can replicate them in a workshop environment.
I’ve also been working on paper for a change and I’ve been experimenting with some new inks I’ve bought and have been having fun trying out some new favourites: FW sepia and antique brown.
I’ve also been enjoying having a go using inks on handmade Khadi papers. Again these are small for now but I hope to go bigger soon. These were such fun and some were more successful than others.
I think I need to have an open studio soon, so I can start to make room for more!
